He Putea Matauranga
For He Putea Mātauranga, the Lake Taupo Charitable Trusts offers education grants for students to study at a range of tertiary institutions.
This programme advocates a more direct commitment to forestry from the trust that requires a direct investment in the beneficial owners and/or their descendants who are prepared to study a high-level Forest Management course. The objective is to build capability among whānau towards key employment areas in the forest industry.
Forestry courses at Toi Ohomai include Level 2 Certificate in Primary Industry Skills, Level 3 Certificates in Forest Harvesting Operations and Level 4 Certificate in Business (Forestry – First Line Management).
Grants are also available to study at other tertiary institutions in related fields: Finance, Business Management, Law, Science, Engineering, Environmental, Information Technology, GIS Mapping and Marketing.

Eligibility
- An owner or descendant of an owner in the Lake Taupō Forest Trust (shareholder number to be obtained by calling the office on 07 3868839 ext. 119)
- Full-time student at an NZQA accredited University, College of Education, Polytechnic or Whare Wananga (does not include Secondary School)
Amount
The value of this grant will be distributed amongst the number of eligible applicants so the value of the grant will not be known until these have been processed and approved by the Kaitiaki.

This grant is available on 1 March and closes 31 May of each year.
